The International Open Chess Tournament "Summer Cup 2023", ,part of the 2nd World Chess Festival Cup in Rhodes, will be organised from 20-30 August in the 5-star Rodos Palace Conference Hotel, a venue which has hosted more than 300 international summits, conferences and corporate events.
This year's tournament will be a 9-round swiss with a prize fund of 10,000 euros(!) and excellent hotel prices, giving the opportunity to combine chess and summer holidays in real 5-star conditions.
Apart from young talents, several GMs and IMs are expected to participate. The prize fund includes 7,100 euros for the top 10 winners, an additional 1,700 euros for the top 3 women and 1,200 euros for junior categories U16 and U12.
The luxury Rodos Palace Conference Hotel is situated on the seaside, in an enchantingly verdant landscape in Rhodes - the famous Greek island on the southeastern Aegean Sea. It includes spacious executive rooms, an ultra-modern thalassotherapy centre & spa, a fully equipped gym, animation activities for children, indoor + outdoor swimming pools and a 5,000 seat convention centre.
