International Youth Chess Festival “Lake Queen 2023” (North Macedonia, Struga, Individual 8-10/9, Team 10-12/9)




REGULATIONS
The International Youth Chess Festival "Lake Queen 2023" will be held from 8th to 10th September 2023, at the "Drim” hotel in Struga.
The Festival includes two tournaments:
"A" Tournament – Lake Queen Amateur Tournament (three age groups), and
"B" Tournament – Lake Queen Team Tournament.
The players must confirm the participation by their presence in the playing hall at the “Drim” hotel in Struga, no later than 10:00 am on September 8th, 2023.

The organizer reserves the right to change the playing schedule.
Players will be notified accordingly, in due course.
Participation:
A Tournament - players born in 2005 and younger, who will be grouped into three age
categories:
A1 Players up to 18 (born 2005 or younger)
A2 Players up to 14 (born 2009 or younger)
A3 Players up to 10 (born 2013 or younger)
B Tournament - Teams formed by 3 players + 1 reserve, all born in 2005 and younger.
Organizer keeps the right to award wild card for some players.
Depending on the number of registered participants, the Organizer reserves the right to change the format and number of A tournaments (to combine some of the standard tournaments), which will be agreed and announced at the Opening Ceremony.
The list of participants will be published on chess-results.com
Playing System:
Tournament A - Swiss System with 6 rounds.
The rate of play will be in accordance with the FIDE Rules.
A1 Tournament - 60 minutes for the whole game with 30 sec. increment, starting from the move one.
A2 Tournament - 60 minutes for the whole game with 30 sec. increment, starting from the move one.
A3 Tournament - 30 minutes for the whole game with 30 sec. increment, starting from the move one.
B Tournament - Round-Robin or Swiss system, depending on the number of teams. The tournament will be held if at least 5 teams have registered.
The rate of play will be in accordance with the FIDE Rules: 30 minutes for the whole game with 30 sec. increment, starting from the move one.
Тhe A1 and A2 tournaments will be rated in FIDE.
The participation fee:
A1 Lake Queen Tournament up to 18 15 euro
A2 Lake Queen Tournament up to 14 10 euro
A3 Lake Queen Tournament up to 10 5 euro
B Lake Queen Team Tournament 20 euro per Team
Prizes:
The guaranteed total prize fund is 36.000 denars (600 euros).
A1 Tournament (up to 18 ) - 18.000 den

Best player under 16 (regardless of age category) 1.000 denars
Best female player 1.000 denars
Best player from Struga 1.000 denars
A2 Tournament (up to 14 ) - 12.000 den

Best player under 12 (regardless of age category) 1.000 denars

Best player from Struga 1.000 denars
All players in the A3 tournament (up to 10) will be rewarded with commercial goods !

Additional awards:
- Trophies and medals for the winners of A Tournament;
- Medals for the winners in all age categories of the A Tournament;
- Trophies and medals for the winners of B Tournament;
- Certificates for all participants.
Payment of cash prizes:
- for domestic players - through transaction accounts, no later than 10 days after the end of the Festival,
- for foreign players - in cash, on the day of the end of the Festival.
Prizes are distributed according to the Hort system.
Criteria in case of ties:
 Direct encounter,
 Buchholz (-1),
 Buchholz,
 Greater number of wins,
 Progress
A player can win only one prize – the greater one.
