International Open Chess Tournament For a Peacefull World Albena Cup 2025 (Bulgaria, Albena, 30/5 - 5/6/2025)

ORGANIZERS:

PLACE OF PLAY:

Hotel Dobrudja, Atlantic Hall and Red Hall

RATE OF PLAY:

Swiss System in 9 rounds, classical chess - 90 minutes per player with 30 seconds increment per move for each player starting from move 1. Tournament is held according to FIDE regulations valid from 1.1.2023 and is  valid for FIDE rating and titles. 

PRIZE FUND – 22 000 BGN:

Main Prize fund is guaranteed if number of participants is 100 or above! 

Special prizes are awarded if there are at least 5 participants in the category. 

Tournament organizers keep the right to change the prize fund based on number of participants. The tournament committee together with organizers will take the final decision.

TOURNAMENT FEES:

- 50 BGN: for players over 60 years old and juniors under 18 years old.

- 100 BGN: for all other participants

FIDE Grandmasters (men and women) are free of tournament fee.

Players, who are not accommodated in official event hotels, must pay 100 BGN extra fees.

PARTICIPATION ALLOWANCE:

All players, which are accepted by the organizers and paid the tournament fee upfront, are allowed to take participation in the tournament and will be registered for participation.

FINAL STANDING:

Final standing is according to the points accumulated in every tournament. In case of a tie the following tie-breaks are applied:

1. Results in the games inside the same score points group. 

2. Bucholtz Median (-1). 

3. Bucholtz.

4. Greater number of wins.

5. Zoneborn-Berger.

The tie-breaks are calculated according to the parameters set in FIDE approved software Swiss Manager.

Prizes are not shared. They are awarded according to the final standing. In case any participant has the right for two prizes, he/she receives the bigger one. In case the prizes are equal, the player receives the one from the main prizes. Special prizes are awarded only when there are at least 5 participants in corresponding group.

The age of players for special prizes is determined by 1.1.2025.

There will be Cups and Medals for best performed players.

According to the Bulgarian Law – 10% tax is deducted from all Money Prizes. 

Special prizes in this tournament are awarded for both boys and girls.

Children under 6 years old – accommodation is free

Children from 6 and under 12 years old – 20 BGN per night

Third person accommodated in a two-bed room has 20% discount from the normal price.

The prices are based per person per night and include accommodation, meals, VAT and tourist tax.

Accommodation in hotels starts at 14:00 and rooms must be freed up before 11:00. 

In case there are 3 people in a single room and the price is not changed.

Juniors under 16 have the right of 15% discount from the main price.

- 7:30  – 10:30  breakfast on a buffet. 

- 12:30  – 14:30 ч – lunch on a buffet with drinks included

- 15:00  – 17:00  – SNACK BAR with drinks included
