Lake Queen Summer Youth Chess Festival - Individual U20 (North Macedonia, Struga, Lake Ohrid 5-8/9/2025)

GENERAL REGULATIONS (INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT)

1 Invitation

The Struga Youth Chess School has a pleasure to invite all young players to participate in the 6 edition of LAKE QUEEN YOUTH CHESS FESTIVAL 2025 which will be held in Struga,Lake Ohrid (North Macedonia) from 05 September(arrivals) until 08 September 2025 (departures)

2 Participation

- А Тournament – U20 (born 2005 or younger)

- B Тournament – U12 (born 2013 or younger)

- C Тournament – U10 (born 2015 or younger)

- D Тournament – U08 (born 2017 or younger)

The players must confirm the participation by their presence in the playing hall at the “Drim” hotel in Struga, no later than 15:00 pm on September 5th, 2025.

Organizer keeps the right to award wild card for some players.

The list of participants will be published on chess-results.com

3.Playing System

Tournament will be play according Swiss System with 6 rounds.

The rate of play will be in accordance with the FIDE Rules.

A Tournament – 60 minutes for the whole game with 30 sec.increment,starting from the move one.

B Tournament – 60 minutes for the whole game with 30 sec.increment,starting from the move one.

C Tournament – 30 minutes for the whole game with 30 sec.increment,starting from the move one.

D Tournament – 30 minutes for the whole game with 10 sec.increment,starting from the move one.

Тhe A and B tournaments will be rated in FIDE.

Depending on the number of registered participants, the Organizer reserves the right to change the format and number of tournaments (to combine some of the standard tournaments), which will be agreed and announced at the Opening Ceremony.

4. Prizes

The quaranteed total prize fund is 30.000 denars (500евра).

А Tournament (up to 20) – 21.500 denars

1 place 7.000 denars 

2 place 6.000 denars 

3 place 4.500 denars 

Best player under 16

(regardless of age category) 1.000 denars 

Best player under 14

(regardless of age category) 1.000 denars 

Best female player 1.000 denars

Best player from Struga 1.000 denars

B Tournament (up to 12 ) – 8.500 denars

1 place 3.000 denars

2 place 2.000 denars

3 place 1.500 denars

Best female player 1.000 denars

Best player from Struga 1.000 denars

All players in the C and D tournament will be rewarded with suitable prizes!

Additional awards:

- Trophies and medals for the winners of the tournaments;

- Medals for the winners in all age categories of the tournaments;

- Certificates for all participants.

Payment of cash prices:

- for domestic players - through transaction accounts, no later than 10 days after the end of the Festival,

- for foreign players incash,on the day of the end of the Festival.

Criteria in case of a ties:

 Buchholz(-1),

 Buchholz,

 Greater number of wins,

 Progress

A player can win only one prize –the greater one.

5 Registration and Participation fee

- Registration entry form must be filled and send to the Tournament office email no later than September 01,2025. A complete registration entry form must include name and

surname of the player and their FIDE ID numbers.

- The deadline for the hotel reservations September 01.2025.

А Tournament up to 20 - 900 denars

B Tournament up to 12 - 600 denars

C Tournament up to 10 - 500 denars

D Tournament up to 08 - 500 denars

6.Travel services

- Official hotel are about 10 minutes away from Ohrid airport and from Tirana(Albania) airport is about 2 hour.

7.Playing Venue & Official Hotel

- The playing venue is in the Congress Hall, Hotel Drim Struga

- Reservation must be done through the organizes only.

These prices are valid from 05 to 08 September 2025 for players and accompanying persons

Single room per night per person 70 eur

Double room per night per person 50 eur

Triple and Room with 4 beds per night per person 45 eur
