This year Greece welcomes all chess lovers and enthusiasts to another prestigious Chess festival of 2019.
The host is one of the most famous and beautiful Greek islands, Rhodes, which is located on the southeast side of the Aegean. Rhodes is known for its huge history and culture and is famous for the Colossus of Rhodes one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
The city of Rhodes combines perfectly medieval and modern characteristics and will never disappoint any traveler. From the Old Town, the Palace of the Grand Master, the ancient artifacts and architecture to the beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters, Rhodes is the ideal location for such an esteemed Chess Festival.
The Rhodes Chess Festival will be held in the five star Hotel Olympic Palace, from April 5th – April 25th 2019. Olympic Palace is a wonderful holiday destination in front of a beautiful sandy beach with the crystal clear waters of Aegean Sea.
The festival includes three Championships:
1) European Senior Chess Championships, 5 April – 15 April 2019
2) European Amateur Chess Championships, 5 April – 15 April 2019
3) World Senior Team Chess Championships, 15 April – 25 April 2019
The organizing committee has created accommodation packages for each championship.
For the European Senior Chess Championship & European Amateur Chess Championship the package includes: accommodation for 10 nights per person in Olympic Palace Hotel, daily full board with breakfast and dinner, transportation from the airport both ways, free Wi-Fi internet access all the fees for the following prices:
• 665 euros total per person in a double room for 10 nights
• 905 euros total per person in a single room for 10 nights
For the World Senior Team Chess Championships
the package includes:
accommodation for 10 nights per person in the Olympic Palace Hotel, registration fee, transportation from/to the airport both ways, daily full board with breakfast, lunch and dinner, free WiFi internet access, registration fees, for the following prices:
• 665 euros total per person in a double room for 10 nights
• 905 euros total per person in a single room for 10 nights
The participants which will compete on the European Chess Championships (Senior or Amateur) and then the World Senior Team Championships as well, will be provided with a 100 euro reward from the organizers and also a free excursion.
The excursions that will be organized are:
1) City tour to Rhodes
A great way to explore Rhodes, the island of the Knights. Discover the long history and significant culture which has developed throughout the years by many civilizations. The city of Rhodes has a rich collection of historical sites and monuments that represent the Greek history and which are worth visiting.
2) Half-Day Trip to Lindos
Discover the beautiful little town of Lindos, a picturesque location on the rocks with its own Acropolis. Lindos is famous for the incredible view, the relaxing walks in the medieval alleys and delicious traditional food.
