Proclamation

1.Organization:

The organization process is being conducted by Volos Chess Academy

Co-organizers – support : The sports club of Agria «ΑTHLOS», T.E.S.S.Th. (local commission of chess clubs of Thessaly), The University of Thessaly – Department of economics. Place of conduction: University of Thessaly Economics department, 28is Oktovriou 76-78, Volos

Ratings: The tournament will be rated for national and international rating systems. Website of the organization: www.vchessacademy.gr

Match system :

Open Swiss tournament, 7 rounds

The pairings of the first round will be done in 3 virtual rating-groups 25%, 50%, 25% of the players as they stand on each group.

OPEN Α Chess players with international ELO greater or equivalent with 1200.

*The host commission maintains the right to configure the limits for the GROUP B based on the participants

Playing time system :

For the GROUP A: a hundred (100) minutes plus thirty (30’’) seconds per move .

Player that will arrive with delay graters than 30 minutes (30’) from the scheduled start of that round, will be nullified.

3.Sign in’s –administrative fees:

The sign in’s are being done by the sign in section which is on the website of the matches, : www.vchessacademy.gr alternatively, with e-mail at: info@vchessacademy.gr with subject of the email “Argo ” and the following details:

FIDE ID, full name, club and phone number.

The participation

General administrative fee : OPEN Α: 30€

Chess players with titles: GM, IM, WGM, WIM,FM,WFM no fee.

Chess payers with special needs no fee, optionally.

Chess players with ratings > 2000 and woman chess players with ratings > 1800 administrative fee : 20€.

Volos chess academy and Sports club of Agria “Athlos” players will have to pay 20 euros for the Group A

Especially for families:

The 2nd member of same family will have to pay 20€

The 3rd member of same family will have to pay 15€

For 4th and so on applies the same as for the 3rd member

cancelations: in case of cancelation until the 15th of December half the of the fee is returning to the player (any bank fees fall on the player).

In the deposit the surname of the athletes that pay the fee must be written.

Any bank fees fall on the players.

The receipts are being sent to the email of the organization for identification: info@vchessacademy.gr

Alternatively,

For any foreign chess players and any other who want the administrative fee can be paid at the place of conduction. Specifically: Thursday 26th of December 14:00 – 15:30.

Confirmation of participations: Thursday, December 26th, physically present in the place of the matches, strictly until 15:30. Anyone who can’t come at this time must inform us by telephone for any delay.

The draw of the 1st round will take place on Thursday December 26th at 4pm and will be announced in chess results.

Players who will not finalize their participation in time will participate from the second (2nd) round.

Maximum of 80 entries. If so, there will be a announcement and a priority list.

PRIZES

* For prizes in the special categories, at least 5 athletes / athletes are required to participate in this specific category.

Prizes are not distributed and are awarded to the winners according to the final ranking. when a chess player is entitled to more than one prize, he / she will receive only the largest (in order: prize money - general cup - special category cup, general medal). It’s obligatory for the winners to be present at the closing ceremony, in order to get their prize.

5. Criteria for Equality:

a)Sum of opponents' points excluding the lowest (Bucholtz Cut-1)

b) Sum of opponents' scores depending on score (Sonneborn-Berger)

c) Bucholtz sum of opponents

Exclusions – postponements :

To facilitate players, an exception may be requested to draw subsequent rounds up to ten (10) minutes after the last lot has expired.

Up to the third (3rd) round, players can get an exception by getting half (½) points. From the 4th round and beyond without a point.

Exception in the 1st round is being given only to the players that have paid the entry fee before the day which the tournament starts.

Missing any round without updating the event organizers automatically results in elimination from the tournament.

If a player fails to attend a round, he must notify the referees ten (10) minutes after the end of the last game.

Postponements and change of start time are not foreseen for any reason.

6. Directorate of Games - Appointment of Referees – Appeals

Organizing Committee: V.C.A. and «To Pionaki» members.

The arbiters will be appointed by T.Ε.D. of T.Ε.S.S.Th.

Appeals - Appeals Committee:

Appeals are made no later than ten (10) minutes after the end of the last match of the round. The Objections Committee is responsible for hearing the complaint, which is composed of 3 full members and 2 alternate members. The committee excludes those members who are related to the athletes involved in the complaint and are replaced by alternates. The objection fee is set at 50 € for the A Group, and can be deposited to the manager or chief referee of the matches. If the objection is accepted, the fee is refunded, otherwise it falls in favor of the organization.

The committee will be announced before the start of Round 1.

7.Other

Photographic or audiovisual material can be legally used by organizers to promote the event and the sport in general. It is clarified that spectators are allowed to photograph the athletes and athletes during the first 5 minutes of the games.
